 THE GREAT SHAKE-UP

Pass the SALT teaches your kids to make a difference in their world.  Matthew 5:13-16 calls us to be salt and light----witnesses for Christ.  During the week of Feb. 11, 2007, your kids Awana club is hosting the GREAT SHAKE-UP, and event focused on sharing Jesus with children who don't know Him.  Pass the SALT trains clubbers to invite their unchurched friends to come that night.  This week we taught your children about Pass the SALT.  We're focusing on kid evangelism to help your child discover the excitement of sharing Christ with others.  Even though the Great Shake-Up itself is a one-week event, our hope is that new children will continue to participate in Awana and come to know Jesus.  Here the the Pass the SALT method that the children learned this week:

1. Search - Identify friends to invite by thinking of those who don't go to Awana or church.

2. Ask - Ask God for those friends to be able to come to Awana.

3.  Link - Be a link for your friends to Jesus by inviting them to the Great Shake-Up.

4. Transport - Offer to give them a ride, if possible.

People come to know Jesus when others invite them to meet Him.  This event is a great way to help your children connect their friends to God and the church.
