Glorify God. Make Disciples.

Midway Baptist Church’s Children’s Ministry exists to glorify God by teaching children the good news about Jesus Christ! All of our children’s ministry programs seek to provide a fun and safe environment for children while teaching them about who God and is, what He has done for them through Christ, and how to know and follow Jesus. Below are some descriptions of some various elements of the MBC Children’s Ministry.

Nursery

The nursery at Midway Baptist Church is operated by volunteer nursery workers. Our desire is to provide a safe environment for children where they experience the love of Christ. Child care is provided for newborn babies through age 3 at every worship service. The nursery provides pagers for parents of infants in case there is a need.

Sunday School

Our reason for having Sunday School is to disciple our children. This offers the opportunity for developing relationships with God, teachers, and friends. We use a curriculum from Lifeway that strives to develop the child through a structured design. The teaching is provided on an age-appropriate level in an encouraging environment. The Sunday School classes offered in our MBC Children’s Ministry are as follows:

MBC Nursery

  • Infant Class (newborn – 18 months)
  • Toddler Class (18 months – 36 months)

MBC Kids

  • 3 – Pre-K
  • Kindergarten – 1st Grade
  • 2nd – 3rd Grade
  • 4th – 5th Grade

Children’s Church

Children ranging from 4 years old through 1st Grade are welcome to be part of Children’s Church. This time is an additional time to reinforce what has been taught during Sunday School. Children are dismissed from service to go to Children’s Church as the message is begun by the Pastor.  This provides the opportunity for children and the parents to be challenged and grown.

Young people hold a special place in Jesus’ heart. He created them. He sacrificed His life for their sins. He longs for them to know, love and serve Him. He desires to spend eternity with them. His kingdom belongs to such as these. That’s why kids matter so deeply to Awana. Awana is a worldwide ministry that believes that Jesus is the answer to every child’s needs, particularly for salvation. Awana programs and materials have been carefully crafted to help churches clearly and consistently communicate the good news of Christ and His plan for their lives, as expressed in His Word, each week of the Awana year. Midway Baptist Church’s Awana program meets every Sunday Night from 5:15 pm until 7:00 pm from September to the first week in May and takes off the month of December. The different groups that meet are:

  • Puggles – 2 years old
  • Cubbies – 3 years old – pre-K
  • Sparks – Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
  • T&T – 3rd – 5th Grade
