Our Purpose – To Glorify God
God is the most glorious being in existence. His nature and character are unparalleled. (Jeremiah 10:6) His knowledge is beyond finding out. (Romans 11:33) His love and grace are immeasurably rich. (Ephesians 2:7) The heavens are crying out that God is most glorious. (Psalm 19:1) Therefore, when God chose to create this Universe, it was only fitting that He would bring glory to what is most glorious – Himself. (Romans 11:36) So, the purpose of God in everything is that His glory would be displayed for now and for eternity. From the lives of individual people to the collection of individuals in the Church, everything exists for the glory of God. (Isaiah 43:7, 21; Ephesians 3:21)
Our Mission – To Make Disciples
Ultimately, God will be glorified through the lives of people as individuals from every people group, tribe and language confess Jesus as Lord and are saved through the Gospel. (Philippians 2:5-11) Just before Jesus returned to God the Father, He left His followers with one, primary mission – to make disciples. (Matthew 28:16-20) So, individually and collectively, we glorify God by making disciples who confess Jesus as Lord to the glory of God the Father.
